Juhana Torkki (b. 1977) is a Doctor of Theology, author, and expert in rhetoric, originally from Korpilahti. He is especially known as an advocate of public speaking, persuasive communication, and classical education. He has published numerous books on rhetoric and has translated classics of ancient philosophy into Finnish. In his work, Torkki has focused particularly on how words can move, persuade, and create connections between people. For him, rhetoric is not only a technique of language use, but also an art of listening, presence, and meaning-making - forming a bridge to music. Torkki studies harpsichord at the Nurmes Summer Academy.
