ANNA KREETTA GRIBAJCEVIC

Viola

Anna Kreetta Gribajcevic, professor of viola at the Hamburg University of Music, regularly performs as a chamber musician as well as a soloist and teaches master classes all over Europe. Partners include the London Philharmonia Orchestra, the Hamburger Symphoniker, the Radio Symphony Orchestra, and Tapiola Sinfonietta, chamber music partners the Auryn Quartet and the Fine Arts Quartet, as well as festivals including the Juventus and Consonances Festivals in France and the Moritzburg Festival in Germany.

Previously, Gribajcevic has worked as a solo violist of Sinfonia Lahti and the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as a guest in the same position, e.g. in the Helsinki City Orchestra, the Finnish Chamber Orchestra and Avanti!.

Gribajcevic has premiered the works of several Finnish composers. The recording of Kalevi Aho's viola concerto for the BIS label received several domestic and foreign awards. The recording of viola-piano sonatas from the Romantic period with pianist Oliver Triendl was released in 2015 on the TYXart label.

Gribajcevic is also the artistic director of the annual “Omenapuun varjossa” chamber music event in Lohja.

Anna Kreetta Gribajcevic studied viola at the Sibelius Academy with Matti Hirvikangas and in Germany with Diemut Poppen and Kim Kashkashian.

Her instrument is a Vincenzo Postiglione viola from around 1860.
